November Favourites

This month I've been loving quite a few things so I thought I'd do a monthly favourites post. My last favourites post was really popular and is one of my most viewed posts, so I thought why not?

Chelsea Boots- Select
I've been wearing these boots almost every time I go out (apart from school) and love them! They are so comfortable and go with everything. I'd wanted some boots like these for AGES but never got round to purchasing some, but I'm so happy that I finally have some; they're perfect.

Hollywood Eye palette- Tanya Burr Cosmetics
This palette is BEAUTIFUL. All the shades are so pigmented and have the cutest names. I use 'nude delight' everyday for school.
Carmex
As it's getting colder I've been reaching for this more often and it really is so good! When you put it on your lips you can tell that it's working because it sort of tingles. It is also so inexpensive.
Buffing Brush- Real Techniques
When I first got this in the Real Techniques 'Core Collection' set I never really used it because I loved using the 'expert face brush' for my foundation. However, recently I've been using this and I love the finish it gives. I love all Real Techniques brushes because they are so soft and I know that I can trust them and they are good quality.
Cherry Coca-Cola lip balm- Lip Smacker
This is probably my favourite Lip Smacker that I have tried and I use it everyday for school. It leaves a subtle dark red colour on your lips and smells amazing. I don't actually like cherry cola which is weird, because I love this.

Glamour Magazine- December edition
Okay, yes I did get this just because Tanya Burr is in it (how amazing does she look?!). But it is so nice that she is in it and got the chance to do something like this. It also comes with a 'free' Clinique product. With mine, I got the 'nude pop' lipstick, which is so cute and is such a gorgeous colour.
Wonder Hand- Zoella Beauty
This is one of my favourite hand creams and I've talked about it before in my 'Favourite Autumn Things' post. But basically it smells amazing and is really moisturising. The packaging is also so cute and I love the copper on it.
Visibly Clear Spot Stress Control daily scrub- Neutrogena
This is a scrub that you can use everyday without drying your skin out, which is amazing. It smells of cucumber and has cucumber in it, which is a great healing product. I use it every morning and night and  have definitely noticed a difference in my skin.
Catastrophe Cosmetic face mask- LUSH
This face mask has blueberries and chamomile in it = smells amazing! I love it because it's really good at clearing your pores, without drying your skin out. Also it's form LUSH, so of course I'm going to love it!

I also have a few blogger/youtuber favourites that I've been loving watching. First of all Petiteelliee 's blog is AMAZING. She is so active, as well as on her Instagram and her posts are so original. Her pictures are also so cute and her Instagram is literally my favourite, just saying.
I also have been really loving watching Samantha Maria's (or Beauty Crush's) videos. She is so gorgeous and seems so down to earth and nice.
And finally I have been obsessed with Meg Says and Just Jodes's YouTube channels. They are both so sweet and deserve so many more subscibers!

Thank you for reading! and also just to let you know in december I'm going to be putting a blog post up every other day! I know, I know, i'ts going to be hard but I've started taking pictures and writing lots of posts ready and I can't wait for you to see them! If you have any ideas for a posts please let me know in the comments.

Autumn Beauty Haul

I thought I'd do another beauty haul as I personally love reading this sort of post and I have been shopping recently and went a bit crazy (I know, it's really bad, someone needs to stop me!).

So first of all I picked up a few Lush things (of course!). I actually didn't buy the 'pop in the bath' bubble bar. My friend gave it to me and I got very excited! (I know you're reading this Carrie, so hi! and thank you!). When I went shopping in Norwich I brought the 'Catastrophe Cosmetic' face mask because I love the Lush face masks so much and they work really well! This one has blueberries and chamomile in it and smells like heaven! The smell is not too strong like other face masks I've tried from lush, which is nice.
I then had to pick up a Christmas product because they all looked so cute! and Christmas is kind of close, right?  I just can't wait for it so I had to get the 'Five Gold rings' bubble bars. You can use them five times as there are five of them (well done Emma you can count) and they are so glittery and christmassy. I love them!

Next I got a few makeup items. I love buying new makeup so much and find it really exciting! (I know, I'm sad). I wasn't planning to but I bought the Tanya burr cosmetics 'Hollywood eye palette' because it's always sold out everywhere. but when I went to Norwich there were loads of them. It's such a pretty palette and perfect for autumn/winter. I also picked up Elle magazine which came with a mini Benefit 'they're real tinted primer' and Glamour magazine which came with a mini Clinique 'nude pop' lipstick. They're both so good and I love mini products so much because you can try out things and if you like them then you can go back and buy the full size without wasting money on something that you might not like.
I then repurchased the L'oreal Paris 'True match' foundation because it's really good and I love it. It doesn't feel too heavy on my skin and it gives a semi-matte finish which is perfect for me because I have oily to normal skin. I also bought the L'oreal Paris 'Infallible primer matte base' because I have heard good things about it and have wanted to try it for a while.

And finally I brought this Essie nail polish in 'Nothing Else Metals' , which I love so much! It's a metallic grey/lilac colour and is so beautiful. It's the only Essie nail polish that I own, but I will definitely be getting some more soon!

Thank you for reading! Let me know if you like this kind of post!

Favourite Autumn Things

Autumn is my favourite season and there are so many things that I love about it. The coziness, the weather, the fashion, the food.... (I could go on!). But I just wanted to share with you some of my favourite beauty/fashion/lifestyle things about autumn.

Cosy Jumpers and fluffy socks
I think one of the best things is how you can just wear cosy jumpers and fluffy socks all the time. Autumn fashion is definitely my favourite!
Scarfs
I also love how you can layer up and wear scarves. My favourite are big cosy tartan ones. I feel like they can really make an outfit.
Lush
At Christmas I feel like LUSH really comes to life and is just so amazing. I definitely have more baths in the autumn and winter so I use a lot more Lush products then. my favourite ever LUSH Christmas products are the Luxury Lush Pud and Candy Mountain.

Fairy Lights
As soon as autumn starts I always get my fairy lights out and put them up in my bedroom. They make rooms so cosy and they just look so cute! I have one set hung over my wardrobe and one set around my mirror.

Nail Polish
I have done a whole blog post on autumn nails which you have a read of here. But basically I just love autumnal colours for nails. These are a few of the ones I'm going to wear this autumn/winter, when I can (as my school doesn't let us wear nail polish, euggghh).
Books
I also feel like I read a lot more in the autumn/winter as I'm inside more and it's nice to just do a bit of reading at night when you.re all cosy in bed, or when you're in the bath.
I love Paper Towns and Looking for Alaska by John Green. They are both quite popular like all John Green books, however I think that some of his books that I've read are a bit boring and kind of similar to each other. I also recently bought Zoella's second novel 'Girl Online On Tour' and was lucky enough to get a signed copy. I'll definitely start reading this soon and can't wait! I also really like Noughts and Crosses by Malorie Blackman and The Perks of Being A Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky.

Hand cream
In the autumn/winter my hands can get quite dry and so hand cream is an essential! This Zoella Wonder Hand is my favourite right now and it's so moisturising. It also smells amazing and has really cute packaging.
Candles
I love to burn autumnal candles in the autumn because they make a room smell so nice and this one that I have has cinnamon sticks in and smells like pumkin and cinnamon spice. But if you're not really a candle person then you can use a autumnal smelling reed diffuser as they are safe and look really cute.

So these were some of my favourite things about autumn! What are your favourite things? Thank you for reading!

Yummy Caramel Shortbread

Caramel Shortbread, or Millionaire's Shortbread is one of my favourite sweet treats ever, so I thought I'd share this recipe for them with you! They might not be the healthiest thing but they sure do taste good!  I hope you enjoy!

Base:
  • 50g (2oz) soft brown sugar
  • 125g (4oz) butter, softened
  • 150g (5 1/2oz) self-raising flour
1. First of all pre-heat the oven to 180°C, 350°F, gas mark 4. Then grease and line a 18 x 28cm (7 x 11in) tin with baking paper.

2. Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Stir in the flour and mix until combined.

3. Press the mixture over the base of the tin and bake for 15 to 20 minutes until golden (make sure your hands are clean!) Then leave to cool.

Caramel Topping:

  • 397g (14oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 125g (4oz) butter, diced
  • 75g (3oz) soft light brown sugar
  • 50ml (2tbsp) golden syrup

4. Next, place the caramel topping ingredients in a saucepan. Place over low heat until dissolved and bring to the boil. Continue to boil, stirring continuously, for 10 to 12 minutes.

5. Pour the caramel topping over the base. Leave to cool completely, (once its cooled down a bit I put it in the fridge).

Chocolate Topping:

  • 75g (4oz) white chocolate of your choice
  • 75g (4oz) milk chocolate of your choice

6. Melt the chocolate in separate bowls over a pan of simmering water.

7. Pour the chocolate milk and white chocolate over the caramel and swirl together with the back of a spoon.

8. Leave to set, then cut into squares.

So there it is, let me know if you make these and if you like baking posts. Thank you for reading!

Autumn Nails

I absolutely LOVE autumn/winter colours on my nails. The favourite ones that I'll be wearing this year are....

(From left to right)
Essie- Nothing Else Metals
I only got this a few days ago but I absolutely love it. It's a metalic pastel pinky purple shade and is really pretty.

Models Own- Deep Sea
This is the nail polish that I have on in the picture and I just think its a perfect Halloweeny (if that's a word) shade. Its a really dark greeny blue colour and is part of Models Own new autumn/winter collection.

BarryM- Jingle bells
This nail polish always reminds me of Christmas as it has little bits of glitter and tiny sequin stars in it. It's perfect for the winter when you want glittery christmassy nails, but It's never to early to have glittery nails, right?!

Models Own- Hot Chocolate
To be honest the name of this nail polish makes me love it even more and makes me feel all warm and cozy. The colour is pretty self explanatory too, its a beautiful chocolate brown and I think its perfect for autumn and winter. This is also part of Models Own new autumn/winter collection.

Tanya Burr Cosmetics- Riding hood
I got this not that long ago and I just think its the perfect dark red shade. Also it feels really special to use because Tanya Burr is one of my favourite Youtubers and she worked so hard to get all the designs and colours perfect for her products.

Jack Wills- Blackcurrant
This shade is a typical autumn colour and is really nice. It's a really dark purple/red colour.

BarryM- Lychee
This is one of my favourite ever nail polishes and I think It's the perfect nude colour. ( I did a whole blog post on it, so if you want to look at that then just click here).

Models Own- Everyday Grey
This nail polish is such an easy colour to wear and will go with everything. It's a light grey colour and is quite discreet. I feel like grey is such a nice colour for nails and you can wear it all year round. This too is part of Models Own new autumn/winter collection.

What are your favourite autumn nail polishes? and do you have any of these shades?

Thank you for reading!
